Hat/Scarf Sets

Some of my hat and scarf set I made at Christmas 2006. Gave them away to friends. I have several more to show. This is my first time using photobucket. Stay tuned.

Thank you everyone for, again, your lovely comments. Every Christmas I have to do some craft to give at Christmas. And, I wanted to learn to work in the round, which was good also. So, if anything, I felt good that I was able to give them as gifts.

Here are the last few. With most of these I was also learning hook size to make the hats fit to the head. The pattern I'm using for all but the turquoise hat and scarf is one of the flapper patterns (basic crown) off of Crochet Patterns Central. After doing the crown, one of the flapper hats calls for:

 

Row 7: dc all around

Row 8-10: double crochet in back loop, double crochet in front loop.

Row 11: dc all around

 

Then I kind of went off into the cluster pattern for some to get a

brim to roll up and for a more delicate look around the edge. I thought

Lionbrand Jiffy makes a good hat. Since it was cold and beginning to

get cold, I wanted bulky hats Then I've got lots and lots of yarn (tooo

much). I used two strands on some.

 

The hat with the Earth tones was done with Lionbrand Homespun. Just some yarn I had and some scraps. I'm really enjoying crochet.

 

I've some other things to send. I have to take pictures now though.
