I did not search for a pattern so I ended up making it up as I was watching American Idol.

rice bags are used as hot or cold packs, for example.

I have an ear infection, so I plce the pack in the micro then place it in this cover and let it rest on my ear.

O.K. So the crocheted cover holds a fabric? plastic? something? bag that is filled with uncooked rice that you can store in the freezer or heat in the microwave?

I dont have a pic right now of the rice pack itself, a friend makes them,

this one is her very first model that was cotton fabric. she has changed them a bit now but these work good too.

I am not too sure on the exact type of rice or deer corn. but I will try to find some links here
