Circle Coat

yarnicopia

Question

Earlier in the week I had bid and LOST on this pattern. I uploaded the pic to my own space because I have to have it.

Has anyone seen this before or can possibly point me in the right direction as to who published it?

I am in love with this coat!

Thank you so much for posting that...those 2 variations are absolutely stunning! I like the one from Cherry tree better because it looks like it's worked in the round which is what attracted me to the whole thing in the first place.

Thank you again very much for posting this.

No thanks necessary! It's fun to help people find crochet patterns.

:blush I love working out new patterns. I am going to make another one for my niece in navy blue soon and I will take extra photos of that one for the pattern as I work on it so shaping the arm holes and such can be seen from the pictures. I am almost finished with the second sleeve of this one, just doing the ruffled cuff now, then I will border it all in white and reverse sc in raspberry - then sew on the buttons. I should have it finished by this evening and I will take a cutie picture of it on one of my children :) I would say this coat is a size 4-5 but hopefully I will be able to write the pattern out so that you make it by measurements not by rounds.

I put the completed (for the most part) picture of the jacket up in the current projects forum. All that is left is the button, but I put a little tie where the button is going for the pictures. Im already working on my next one for my other dd - this is the one I will write the directions out for and will note how I size it for her.

Your design is awesome! If you write a pattern, please let me know! The pictures are great and the ruffles make the coat. The style is very versatile--hip for us 20+ somethings as well as being cute enough for 1st grade.

Ok I found this coat pattern being sold on ebay again Ro but I'm not so sure that I would buy from them...they have a couple patterns being sold that are free on the internet and a couple patterns that are in current magazines being sold as well. I'm thinking this seller should be turned in to ebay for copyright infringement....I'm seeing SO much of this lately it's not funny. Makes me wonder if that coat pattern could possibly be found free on the internet somewhere.

Here's the coat pattern...click seller's other items to see if they are familiar to you as well. The one capelet poncho pattern they have for sale is one that I just recently made from a current knitting/crochet magazine.

When I came across the checkerboard afghan pattern being sold on ebay when I just found it being offered free online, I told my friend about it because they were also selling one of her old patterns. She told me that if they are literally ripping out the magazine/book pages and selling them then that is ok for them to do- but if they are making copies of the patterns that it is not ok to sell them that way.

Wow I certainly didnt know that but I wonder if this is the same seller that Ro saw the first time and if she's indeed tearing them out of magazines or making copies. Wish I knew what magazine that coat came out of.

Becky,

It most definately is the same seller. I had her in my bookmarks. Her list of patterns for sale are all the same from over a week ago when I saw that coat originally. She just appears to be relisting them. So perhaps they are copies. I had originally emailed the owner after I lost the bid to see if she would mind sharing with me the source for that pattern so I can track it down on my own. And she never replied..so that pissed me off a little bit and now I won't buy that pattern from her no matter how badly I wanted it.

I did also notice that some of those patterns were actually from recent magazines that I PAY for.

That really ticks me.

I kinda had a feeling that they were copies since those patterns from a recent magazine were in there. That just sucks that people are profiting off of others like that. I would love to have that pattern as well but no way I'll get it from that seller. I'm determined to find SOMEthing like that if not the exact one (or maybe even come up with something myself sometime) and Chelle's pattern for kids is great so to heck with that seller LOL.

I don't know if you ever wound up buying this or not, but I have it! I have a copy of it given to me by my aunt and, if it is ok (I don't know what the rules are on photocopying), I'd be more than happy to pass it on to you - mail would be best, probably. I'm so sorry I didn't see your post sooner! But I do have the pattern, and another very similar to it from the same book. Let me know.
