Looking around for a wrap Sweater

Has anybody seen a wrap sweater like the ones ballet dancers wear?? They're close fitting and kinda short meant to be worn over a shirt. I don't mind if I have to buy a pattern.

LOL, Rebecca, you're right...I know it was dated, but I figured if you didn't increase around the sleeves, and decreased the body a little, it'd be nice....hehe, but that HAIR...glad there isn't a pattern for THAT!

The "wrap" that you are looking for is actually called a shrug. There is a pattern for one in the booklet from JoAnn's. The booklet is patterns designed to use their Sensations yarn. I have a copy of the booklet and it doesn't look too hard to make. (Just make sure that you buy the crochet one and not the knit. I don't think it's in the knit booklet.)

I know it's been awhile, but was looking through my stash hauls from eBay, saw this, and thought of you...you'd have to adjust the sleeves, no doubt, but....:

Yep I was looking through that yesterday and saw those.I'm just wondering if I should probably just wing it , because using a pattern that I have to adapt may be harder than starting fresh :thinking1 .

There's a wrap sweater pattern on page 55 in the Better Homes and Garden Crochet magazine. It was the premier issue in 2003. It's really cute and it's short. I hope this helps.

There is a wrap sweater in the BH&G (Premiere Issue)

Casual Wrap Cardigan progect #19 page 96.

It's longer but you could shorten it .

What about trying to modify the sweater from the Ballet Set at LionBrand to fit you?

 

Just pick a stitch you like and go for it.

there is a wrap one in the newest crochet fantasy .. i do believe.. i have resisted buying ot because that was the ONLY pattern out of it I would really use.. but i think i will go get it because 4.50 is a small price to pay for something imight want later..
