One question...

Who is going to take me in when my husband sends me packing???? You are all being a bad influence on me, I'm holding you responsible The good news is he'll probably make me bring all my fiber stuff with me <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rotfl.gif" />

Off I went to AC Moore last night. Got a wooden needle handle that came with 3 needles and a pack of another 3 needles. I loaded 5 into the handle and left 1 out to do detail work with. And some little black beads.

Grabbed a hunk of pastel colored Icelandic (probably not the best stuff to work with) and made a little flat fish

<img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ilexmi/feltedfish.jpg" /> I wanted him to be round and detailed on both sides, but I had no clue what I was doing. I gave him to hubby as a peace offering <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/lildevil.gif" />

Then, I stayed up until 2 am <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/sleeping.gif" /> making this little head

<img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ilexmi/feltedhead.jpg" /> It's supposed to be a teddy bear, but it's looking more like a mouse I think. I haven't started the body yet, what do you think it looks more like? That was from Coopworth roving, much easier to work with.

So, I'm officially hooked. And hubby really is a good sport about all this nonsense, I just like to tease him <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" />

Thanks everyone!!!

Elizabeth, NC always seemed like a nice place to live <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/toothygrin.gif" />

I just winged both of them. I tend to be a bit :::ahem::: impulsive and impatient so I just dive into things. Which is why my fish is flat instead of puffy lol!

I already had roving so I just bought some needles. I used a drop of elmers glue to hold the beads into the indentations. Probably wouldn't hold up to a lot of abuse, but it's all I had on hand.

I made the torso for my mouse (he told me he definitely wants to be a mouse) tonight, including a white fuzzy belly. Legs & arms tomorrow.

Neato! The mousie is particularly adorable! :)

Dang... I was just at Michaels today, and it never occured to me to look for needle felting needles... somehow I assumed it would be too obscure for a regular craft store. I'll have to look next time! (I can't wait to try this new-to-me craft! :)) )
