Not necessarily looking for advice, but I will take it! I have a very dear friend in Singapore who is AMAZING! We pray over the phone together, and she pours into my life in very real and tangible ways as well. WHAT do I crochet this dear one?!! It's ALWAYS hot where she lives, so she's not at all interested in shawls. Or hats. I've thought about dresses, purses, but I am struggling not knowing her style~especially when mine can be out there~LOL! And she's TEENY. I so want to bless her! You could also make a filet crochet wall hanging. Or book marks. Or a bible cover (I'm only assuming you're Christians cause you said you pray together).

How about coasters. If it's always hot, drinks are sweating.

 

Purses/bags, both personal and market type. I bet she'd like those.

 

Maybe a special pillow or two.

 

Hot pads. There are some very pretty ones out there and some cutesy types.

what about a lace scarf? use a fiber that is hot weather friendly.

Y'all are awesome! I finally just asked, so it's no surprise, but she mentioned something to hold two lipsticks. YAY! I'm considering a pocket tissue holder as well, and maybe a matching purse? We'll see what time permits... *THANK YOU ALL!!!!!*
