Loopy scrunchies made by my 13 year old

Shay has been crocheting off and on for about 5 years. Mostly chains or making up her own design as she goes along.

 

The purple one was made last week. She was bored and wanted something to do. The black one was done this afternoon and will be going to one of her friends.

Who says crochet is a lost art?! I hate when people say that! I have 2 nieces who are 14 and they crochet or knit all the time! Good job on these!

Definitely not a lost art in my house. My 8 1/2 year old is just starting to get the hang of it, my 7 year old loves to chain (still a little tight) and Im just waiting for my 6 year old to gain enough coordination to begin teaching her. There's just something special about sitting on the front porch with a couple of my girls chatting while we all crochet.
