V-Stripes Afghan

- Worsted Weight Yarn

- G hook

- Approximately 50” x 80”

- Worked in rows (can be sideways or up & down)

- Change colors when wanted in last stitch of row

(as pictured for purple and green afghan: stitch 8 rows in each color with one row between)

- V-st: (dc, ch1, dc) in same ch or stitch

Row 1: Ch 208; V-st in the 5th ch from hook, (skip 2 chs, V-st in next) across until last 2 ch, skip 1 ch and dc in last, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, V-st in each V-st across, dc in last, turn.

Repeat Row 2 to desired length (about 175 rows for 80”).

Edge 1: Join edge color in top right corner with sc, 4dc, sc in same corner. (Sc in space between V-sts, 4dc in next space between V-sts) repeat to corner.

(Sc, 4dc, sc) in corner space. (Sc in first row end, 3dc in next row end) repeat to corner.

(Sc, 4dc, sc) in corner space. (Sc in space between V-sts, 4dc in next space between V-sts) repeat to corner.

(Sc, 4dc, sc) in corner space. (Sc in first row end, 3dc in next row end) repeat to corner. Sl st to first sc and finish off.

Edge 2: Round 1: Join edge color in first V-st at top right corner with sc, ch2, dc in same (1st V-st made). V-st in each V-st across. Ch2. (V-st in row end, skip next) repeat across. Ch2. V-st in each V-st across. Ch2. (V-st in row end, skip next) repeat across. Ch2. Sc in first V-st made.

Round 2: Ch 2, dc in same. [V-st in each V-st across, (V-st, ch2, V-st) in corner] repeat around and sl st to join.

Lol...those were finger puppets I made for my daughter's 5K class at Christmas. The sticks are from the Tootsie Pops inside them. The kit came from Mary Maxim.
