Bell tree ornaments

I found two of these saved in a box from a few years ago and copied them with pretty good results... then I found the old label of the yarn which had the "original" pattern, just a tad bit different than "mine". That made me think that some people go overboard with the copyright thing. If even an "amateur" like me can "figure" simple stuff like this, I feel it is ridiculous to claim "ownership" of something like this...

Very pretty! My grandmother used to make those and I found a few of her old ones and made my own using her's as a model. Love that sparkly yarn!

Those are great and almost EXACTLY what I am looking for for my tree. Many many years ago I inherited hand made bells from my relatives. They look just like yours with the jingle bell inside, however mine are all done in thread.

 

Did you adapt a thread pattern for acryllic yarn?

No, I'd never seen a pattern in thread (but would love one!). I had more of these and I only put jingle bells on a few, they were probably from something else.

I'm going to try and figure out these bells in thread as they are very pretty and I know some of mine are upwards of 100 years old I'm afraid to even try to "clean" them with anything.
