Looks like it is crocheted with a varigated yarn, not granny squares but the picture is a little blurred and not up close enough for my old eyes.

Probably not!! But who knows!! It might just surprise ya!! But most likely she didn't do it. Bet she had to pay big bucks for them though (unless a friend made them for her).

 

I really wish I could see the pic. I really wanted to try to make a pair like the ones in the photo.
