Very lovely. Is it based on a particular view of Mary? I associate the type of rays you've used for the halo with Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Yes, It is a Guadeloupe Icon. Since it is so difficult to design the entire image in a worsted weight yarn shawl, without losing so much detail, I opted to do the upper torso and the rays. I had to stylize the image. Had I used thread, I probably could have gotten more of Her in. I also put stars in the corners to balance the design, which is in keeping with the 12 stars of Revelations.
