I've seen mention on a few crochet blogs about a Crochetville RAOK. How exactly does it work, and how can I participate?

the ROAK post are in the wishing well section. I believe you need to be a member for a few months or have a certain number on post before you can join in.

I just hit my 30 day mark today and those areas of the site magically appeared for me this morning. I am still looking through them and figuring out how they work, but they look really neat. The swaps look like a lot of fun! Just have patience and they will show up for you some day soon.

Good timing! Just this morning, Donna announced that she had changed the amount of time needed to access those parts of the forum. Just go to the main C'ville page, the board announcements sub-forum, and you can read all about the changes, what you'll be able to access in 30 days, etc. It'll fly by, I promise! Patty

RAOK means Random Acts Of Kindness. It is used a lot in the wishing well and charity sections. There is a place here that explains most of the abbreviated stuff you'll see here.

Ack, I was trying to figure out what RAOK meant - it's not in the acronym list. I'm not quite up to 30 posts yet, so I guess I'll find out soon.

RAOK - Random Acts of Kindness

 

Members post a wish list with 10 items that they would like to receive. Other members go thru the wish lists and find things to grant. Sometimes they send items on the list and other times they just send fun things. Some are crocheted and some aren't.

I might be a newbie to this site, but I have had my computer since Jan of 1999, and I know my way around a chat board and then some.

And I really like it here too
