Frog and fashion again-runners and placemats

Finally, I am making my mum something that she has been hinting she wants for her table. She needs 6 of these and I should be able to make them for Christmas. I looked through my stash as I knew I had a collection of UFOs someone had given to me as they know I crochet. I have attached photo to give you an idea what these looked like. This morning I decided to frog these forlorn looking creations and dug up some of my cotton yarn left over from potholders and this is the result. I have since made a selection of flowers and need to complete the rest of these runners/placemats. The runner measures 17X10 inches.

Thank you all for the feedback. Sadly, I have not done anymore on these as I have been rushing around doing other things. Tonight is the night when I must make some progress. I really want to give her the full set on Christmas day.
