Copper pot lid crochet ?

Ok so my hubby bosses wife has this copper pot with a little handle on top of the lid I noticed she had a little crocheted topper to pick up the lid & I would like to make some more for her. My problem is I'm not sure the size of the little top it's just the handle I need the measurement of. If anyone has one of these old copper pots please help me.

I am looking for one (lid grabber) that was in a WorkBasket Magazine in the 80's I think. It was one of those easy things, not too elaborate. Maybe I will have to try to design one. I wish I still had the one I made, I could copy it.

I had one that looked like a little sombero and you could adjust the fit with the 'hat band'. Does that make sense? LOL

I just designed/made one of these for my aunt to try for me.

 

I like these things and I think I will make more sets.

 

I did a lid-lifter hat, a pot handle cozy and a pretty hot pad so you can put the hot pot on the counter. Dontcha just love crochet

Yes! Mine was sort of a ladylike hat with a crocheted string band for adjusting. You just pulled it tight and made a bow. I have a BUNCH of old workbasket magazines to look through again, but I always get distracted by the patterns in there and forget what I am looking for!
