First Recycled Plastic Rug

I finally finished my round motif rug that I crocheted from recycled plastic bags or plarn. I must say it was a bit of a challenge. I wanted to use my favorite Motif pattern for the center and a granny square type stitch pattern. Well I had problems getting to to lie flat but after frogging it several times, I finally called it good. At least as good as it is going to be. Anyway here is the picture and link to the free pattern.

Great idea and I love it. Can you use any kind of plastic bag from the stores? Plarn is plastic cut into strip? A wonderful use of keeping more plastic out of the land fills..

 

I'll have to look up how to make the swifter covers.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. The rug is 18" across. Yes you can use any type of grocery or retail plastic bags. I cut mine in 1" strips and interlink them. Here is a picture tutorial link on how to make plastic bag yarn or plarn as many call it.
