Hi From Northern California! I've been crocheting for 16 years - was taught on work breaks by a great lady in Portland, Oregon. She taught me how to crochet thread doilies and I've reluctantly done some blankets but prefer crochet thread. I've been knitting for about 2 years now...and the fascination is just coming to a point where I'm looking forward to putting the arts together and seeing what I come up with! I've just started a local group for weekly stitching together (knitting or crocheting) so I look forward to more time to make things. In my real life, I'm a wife and also have 4 sons (10, 8, 4 and 1 we lost at 8 mos old)...we homeschool #2 and I plan to teach #1 and #2 how to crochet this summer....I think it would be very helpful for their fine motor skills - plus, I think they'll enjoy the creation process!

In all the years I've been crocheting, I've never crocheted a garment....or knitted one for that matter. I look forward to finding a pattern that I'll enjoy!

I hope to find some like-minded friends here!
