If money were no object, what yarn?

Recommended Posts

I guess in this I'm different too. I'm a very practical person who lives outside much of the time. As much as I might love to try alpaca and cashmere, I wouldn't have a valid use for it here in southern WV. So I WOULDN'T want to try any of that. What I would stock up on is Paton's Beehive Baby Sport...probably skeins by the hundreds. Cotton yarns...again by the hundreds. Also pure Wool. I am a raft guide...and you can wear wool on the river...where you can't cotton. Otherwise, ILTY and RHSS are fine and what I use now. :)

Alpaca! Wouldn't it be great to cuddle up in a whole alpaca afghan.?

I have a blanket that I bought when I was in Peru and it is Made from Alpaca. I have to say It is my very favorite Blanket, and I use it everyday!! It has held up well too. So I would have to saY Alpaca is my vote too!!

I'd want to try out the bamboo yarn first. It's so soft, yet too expensive to be practical...lol I'd love to make a blanket or sweater from it.

I'd eventually try all the yarn. Other plant fiber yarns and other types of natural yarn in particular. Though I'd probably avoid wool because it's always felt a bit scratchy to me. (plus my mom is allergic...lol)

I'm currently using Paton's Grace for the 1st time and love it. It's a sport weight cotton. It feels wonderful to work with. So that would be at the top of my list. I love size 3 cotton crochet thread, also. Not sure about others just yet.
