Lion Brand Prayer/Healing Shawl Problems

Has anyone else had problems with this pattern?

 

This row seems to be the problem?

 

Row 3: Ch 3, turn; (dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch2 sp across to last 2 dc, skip next dc, dc in last dc.

 

Past this row, you repeat rows but looks like you ch, and then go back into dc. The chain 3 at the beginning of the row. Should this read ch 3, turn, dc into last ch 2 of previous row then dc, ch 2, dc rest of the way across?

It would be a lot simpler if they just said V-st in V-st across.

 

You basically have a V-st (dc,ch2, dc) pattern with a dc on each edge to keep it tidy.

Don't you just love the wording sometimes? Sometimes instructions are about as clear as mud!! Once again, you came to the rescue. I love the look of the pattern. My friend is making this one now and I plan to make it as my next shawl for the prayer shawl ministry, so you are helping both of us.

The thing that seems to be throwing her is that all of a sudden the pattern no longer mentions turning. To my way of thinking, since all of the previous rows say to chain and turn, one should follow the precedent. Am I correct or am I assuming too much. That from row 3 on, you turn at the end of each row just like the rows prior???

I didn't like that pattern so I used the romantic shawl and it worked up so much better for me so that's what I have been using for my prayer shawls. I am so glad it's not just me that can't understand these things. Mary

i had trouble with a few of their patterns, mine ended up lopsided....and i frogged it quite a few times
