Hook C with Worsted Weight Yarn???

It says that the hook size is C and the yarn is SuperMerino. From what I can find, SuperMerino is a worsted weight yarn. Hook size C seems so small for this yarn. Does anyone have any experience with this pattern or hook/yarn combination?

I have seen patterns for mohair yarn, which is fine and thin, and when changing yarns it calls or worsted, which I don't understand...but perhaps the SuperMerino is a lightweight worsted?

C is a pretty small size for worsted weight. The gauge given is closer to a sport or DK weight. Looks like the hat would be worked very tightly. Many wool yarns are often lighter than the acrylics within the same yarn weight category. Best bet: gauge swatches with the yarn you want to use. Then

use whatever hook gives you that gauge.

The pattern lists www.artyarns.com for the yarn. Then if you click yarns and in the drop down click super marino it says 100% wool. Looks like yummy yarn to try. Mary

I have a purse pattern that calls for worsted weight with a C hook. It's a little tricky to manage at times but it works up really tight and pretty stiff. I can't open your link but Jean mentioned a hat. If it is a hat, maybe it needs to be worked with a C hook so it forms tight and stiff?

I do it all the time, which calls for tight crochet, and longer time than what it should. It is also hard to see the stitches. I start it and never finish it. I take it apart for all that frustration.
