the hhdc (yea, that's the one that everyone "cranked" over when making the fbb!! for a real strange reason, that stitch actually came easy for me and i am an inexperienced crocheter. i like the look of the stich and just thought it would make up nicely for an afghan or lapghan...just wondering?:think

I liked that stitch, too! Like you, I also found it very easy to figure out how to do. Of course, my FBB is still a UFO because I haven't yet found a pair of handles I really like, and what I really want to do is make a pair with a spool knitter, but so far I have only been able to find a small spool and I don't want skinny handles, but I digress.

If I were you, I would just find a pattern for an afghan that I like that's done in SC and just change it to the HHDC. I've never seen that stitch anywhere before the FBB pattern, so I would just improvise and change an existing pattern to that stitch.

I like that stitch, too. A lot.

I don't know of any afghan that uses it though. I'm thinking you can find one you like especially a half double stitch, and just use the hhdc. Or chain the width you want, then do the hhdc to the length you'd like.

hhdc? How does that work?

For anyone that wants to learn, here you go:

And here's another of Julie's purses to try it out on:
