I AM WAITING FOR A REPLY FROM MY BROTHER-IN-LAW ... WHO SPEAKS JAPANESE .... I'm checking to see if he can tell us IF THEY ARE PATTERNS,

or IF THEY ARE JUST THE PRODUCT, IF THERE'S AN ENGLISH TRANSLATION

and HOW TO ORDER. He works for the gov. in DC, so I'm hoping by tonight he'll be able to get back to me.

THESE ARE ADORABLE LITTLE POOCHEES!!!! Can't wait to find out!!! If

not orderable, I'd like to attempt them!! Peggy

I just made a shiba inu (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54142) but I didn't write down the pattern. The shape wasn't too hard to figure out, it was the colour changes that were a bit complex, so that's why I didn't write it down.

There is an amigurumi chihuahua pattern that has been translated from the Japanese and is available for free here: http://katcrochet.com/chi.htm ... Maybe you could take a look at that pattern and modify it to make the other breeds. Good luck!

OOOOO that would be sooooooooooooooo fantastic, if he can't figure it out just pick which one/ones you want to do and tell me the pattern (be sure to write it down). I would really love to post the patterns for free so everyone can enjoy them. I will put the names of the people who created them with the patterns too also.

OOOO that is sooooooooo lovely!!! If you could figure out the pattern for it (how you did it) that would be great, then I would have one less dog to have done. I have the chihuahua and husky pattern from her so that is why I didn't post needing them, but just in case if you want the pattern for the chihuahua and husky just go to http://katcrochet.com and click on free patterns and you should find them.

BUT I ACTUALLY ASKED SOMEONE ELSE WHO PURCHASES LOTS OF

JAPANESE BOOKS TO RESELL AND SHE THINKS THE PHOTOS HAVE JUST

BEEN POSTED ON A BULLETIN BOARD FOR SHOW. I ALSO COPIED AND PASTED ALL OF THE JAPANESE WRITING AVAILABLE ON THE SITES AND

HAD IT TRANSLATED... NO ORDER LINK, NO PATTERN, NO CONTACT, NO NOTHING! SORRY, BUT I STILL HAVE HOPE FROM MY BRO-IN-LAW!!!

SaucyLouise from Etsy has checked into these for me. The owner sells

the actual little dogs. I asked her to see if she'd be interested in selling the

patterns and if so, how much, if not, how much each little ami would be. I will keep you posted on both! THANKS!!! ;)

Hi - Just thought I'd let you know that I just found at least 5 of the dogs in

2 books off of ebay which I have purchased. The daschund (sp?), the chihuahua, the beagle, the pug, and the Bernese Mt.dog. DOES ANYONE

KNOW HOW PEOPLE ARE TAKING JAPANESE PATTERNS AND SELLING THEM INDIVIDUALLY AS AN ENGLISH PATTERN... ON EBAY? Is this ILLEGAL? I

would think it was. If it's not, I could translate them for you here, or I may

ask Saucy Louise to ask the designer of them if I could do that here for you also. I'm still waiting to hear from her. I'll post the picts of the 2 books

later today hopefully. Peggy

Thanks for doing this, Peggy! However, I'm sure that posting a translation of a non-free pattern for free is still violating copyright. Even if the designer agreed to it, the copyright on the patterns probably resides with the publisher of the Japanese books, not the designer.

Okay, this is the latest .... the designer of these patterns is working on

a book at the moment, if SaucyLouise and I understand correctly ...

we are waiting on information on costs and will let you know ASAP!!!

But it sounds promising!!! :D

And about selling a Japanese pattern in English... the ONLY way I'd

translate and sell it would be WITH PERMISSION to the Designer and

with royalties on each and every sale... I'm an honest person and

would NEVER violate copyright rules.... I just was wondering if there

was something about the patterns being sold on ebay ... if there was

something available that I didn't know about.

I don't know if this will help anybody, but if you copy the address of the dog you like, go to :google language tools and paste the address in the "translate a web page" box, and select japanese to english, it will translate the page 4 you.:dog

Peggy, thanks for scanning the book covers - they look very cute :)

A quick question for you... In these Japanese books, are the patterns written out as text or graphed?
