Peggy, thanks for scanning the book covers - they look very cute :)

A quick question for you... In these Japanese books, are the patterns written out as text or graphed?

I ACTUALLY DIDN'T SCAN THE BOOK COVERS... I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE

BOOKS YET - I JUST BOUGHT THEM AND THEY ARE COMING "SLOW-BOAT-FROM-CHINA"!!!! I just have

been watching the books posted on ebay and found out a little more info

from other's listings of them. I'll holler as soon as they get here as to how

many dogs are really in each of them.

I REALLY NEED THE Miniature Schnauzer pattern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to crochet it for my grandpaw

Isn't the Schnauzer just TOO CUTE! I think you could just use some of the

other patterns to make him... maybe the Bernese Mt. Dog in solid grey and

then crochet his ankles/feet and chin area with the white eyelash yarn instead of grey.

The ears might even be very much like the pugs. Then give him some crazy

eyebrows!!!

dachshund

Hi - Just thought I'd let you know that I just found at least 5 of the dogs in

2 books off of ebay which I have purchased. The daschund (sp?), the chihuahua, the beagle, the pug, and the Bernese Mt.dog. DOES ANYONE

KNOW HOW PEOPLE ARE TAKING JAPANESE PATTERNS AND SELLING THEM INDIVIDUALLY AS AN ENGLISH PATTERN... ON EBAY? Is this ILLEGAL? I

would think it was. If it's not, I could translate them for you here, or I may

ask Saucy Louise to ask the designer of them if I could do that here for you also. I'm still waiting to hear from her. I'll post the picts of the 2 books

later today hopefully. Peggy

Awh, what a cutie!!!!!! I know a lot of people think that pitbulls are mean but they really aren't, it's their owners that made them that way. He is a beautiful color, thanks for sharing your picture and good luck with figuring it out.

The labs are in the Dec/Jan issue of Crochet Today! on page 75. I don't know if anyone has that magazine with it in there or not. I also don't know if anyone has it or not, but the first issue of Crochet fun (I think that is what it is called) had a cute dog and cat crochet pattern (no specific breeds or anything, but they were cute)

HEY!!! I JUST GOT THE BOOKS
(pictured above) and the :dog:doglisted ARE the ones in the books. One book has 5 in it: Labrador Retriever, and the Bernese Mt. Dog, and then three itty bitties... for key chains; I'm guessing about 2.5" high and they are the Chihuahua, Beagle and Pug. Listed in the other book is the Dacshund (never can spell it right) in multi colors.

Someone asked earlier about sharing the patterns... these books are still in print and selling and I'm sorry but I don't infringe on copyrights. I know how

I'd feel if I found my patterns somewhere on the net up for grabs!!! :irk

BUT!!!! I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW AS SOON AS SAUCYLOUISE INFORMS

ME ON THE NEW BOOK THE DESIGNER IS SUPPOSED TO BE PUTTING OUT

IN ENGLISH (?) When and where it can be bought... Saucy Louise on Etsy

should be able to get it if this happens and she's got awesome prices on

all these Japanese books!!!!

JUST GOT SOME NEW INFO FROM SAUCYLOUISE:

Sent by Saucylouise on July 17, 2007:

Yeah, I did hear back from her (the designer of the dogs) and

she said that her patterns

are mostly in the chocolate soldiers book you already bought(the

book listed above with 5 dogs in it).

Some of them are getting into an english book soon and I guess

she'll tell me when that happens. she said that for copyright

reasons she can't sell them to me but that's ok. I'll let you

know if I hear anything else. On the chocolate soldiers book. I

should have them by the time I get back to Japan, I had ordered

them before I left and they should be sitting there now but I

can't list them till I get back. :) I'll list them at my new

store if you want to let people know. http://saucylouise.com the

newsletter will let people know about sales going on and other

great stuff. My sale right now is a coupon they can redeem at

check out for all orders over $100 10%OFF is the code. :) Let me

know if you have any questions. :) Thanks again girl. :) I'll

email all newsletter subscribers when I get back in august. :)

Thanks!

Sorry - just saw Peggy's response above and I must have posted at the same time. So new question - where do you get Japanese patterns translated?

Will these be in Japanese? If yes, how would we get them translated? :think

THE BOOKS ARE IN JAPANESE BUT I WAS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE PATTERNS BY LOOKING AT THE CHARTS THEY INCLUDE. THERE ARE

WEBSITES THAT TRANSLATE FOR YOU BUT I'VE NEVER TRIED TRANSLATING

A JAPANESE CROCHET PATTERN. THANKS!!!

I did get my books and I have them listed in my store now. http://www.saucylouise.com and a whole bunch more that are just amazing. I love the japanese books, they are so easy to read. The diagrams make so much more sense then the american patterns. I don't know why they don't start making all the patterns like this, it would be so much simpler. Someone should do something about that. :)

I don't have the same price as amz but I have better shipping than they do, they charge 3000 yen for shipping to US...that's around $27. And my shipping is just as fast as Amazon's to the US I send First Class or Priority Mail and it take around 5-10 days to receive. That's just my 2 cents. :)
