Absorbent Yarn?

I wanted to make some matching dishtowells and possibly some hot pads and kitchen stuff...but what type of yarn would be absorbant enough for a dish cloth?

I usually use cotton worsted weight, many different brands out there but I have easy access to Sugar and Cream.

I agree, cotton works best for dishcloths.

I made a set for my kitchen (I still have yet to put them up, though - me needs buttons), and I used cotton ww yarn that I bought online from the U.S. They came out quite nicely.

I like me cotton dishcloths for scrubbing the walls & general household cleaning - something about the ridges really gets the dirt out. And they're great on dishes too!

I also like the cotton. It is the most absorbant around and it cleans up great.

I buy it by the cone and here is where I get it.

I use cotton...and have been toying with the idea of using a different kind of cotton but I always use Sugar and Cream cotton or Peaches and Cream cotton. I know Peaches and Cream comes in a big 1 lb cone at Walmart and you can make a ton of discloths for that. (and the price is pretty good too. I think I paid around $6 for my lber cones.)
