HELP Loops & Threads Pattern Dainty Diamond Blanket

I have been trying for 3 days to make this blanket

ch 145

setup row - sc in 2nd ch; sc to end - 144

row 1 ch3 (counts as DC) dc across - 144 (though if I count that dc, I come up with 145)

If you look at my picture with the pattern - Row 3 - I'm supposed to end up with 3 dc at the end.  I end up with either have 4 or 6

Hi Liz, didn't realize you'd made 2 posts-- I just answered your other post from yesterday. You made row 5 as plain DC, but it was supposed to have slanted DCs similar to the ones in row 3.  Row 3 made the bottom of the diamonds, a V shape, row t makes the top of the diamonds to 'close them', in a /\ shape.

If you have 144 sc the next rows count shouldn't change unless you are adding a dc into the ch 3 space.

Agree with NCcountrygal you have inadvertantly added a stitch.  The following is a good article on where first stitches are to be placed.

That is exactly what I was doing!  I'll be working on this in a bit and will skip that spot
