Crochet starting over

Hello everyone. I have just started crocheting and I did a patch 17×17 but the edges are horrible. I don't know the rules of crocheting but Is it possible for me to unravel everything and start all over again using the same yarn? Thank you 😊

Yes I do it all the time when I dont like my work.  Its called frogging because we rip it rip it back.

Is it a square or rows  ? If it's square you can frog it. but instead of making a ball,  as you frog. If it's rows you might be able to fix the edges with a border.

Yes, I'm sure most of us seasoned crocheters out there have ripped miles of yarn and re-used it to fix a mistake, sometimes the same stretch of yarn several times, with no ill effects.

Might depend a little on the yarn, I mostly use acrylic or cotton which stands up pretty well to ripping.

I think it's called 'frogging' because of the sound a frog makes (ribbit, ribbit) - rip it, rip it.
