Welcome to the 'ville!

What  does the 'one that is a butterfly pattern' look like, in other words is it a typical granny square made around a center that is a butterfly, or a granny square that incorporates stitches that look like butterflies, or??  Is there a link to the pattern or a photo of the square you are trying to match on the internet somewhere?

When matching a square with a design in it, I use some of the same colors. A basic 12 in. solid or granny square with the same colors as the as the butterfly square will work. Just be sure to have the same number of stitches on the sides as the butterfly square (easier to sew together).
