How about this guy, he's quite a bit smaller but very cute (pattern is in a Leisure Arts book) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gnome-4  (book is on Amazon for $12.99) .  I found some others that weren't super simple cones with noses and beards, not quite the same also not free:

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/radieschen-the-gnome

Hmm, this one appears to be part hobbit with those feet! (also not free) https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/toben-the-gnome

Could be made more muppet-ish with bigger eyes maybe https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gnorman-the-gnome-amigurumi

That is a very nice Gnome :)

From what I was able to find out on Pinterest there  might be a free crochet pattern (I am not sure if that pattern is there). BUT, to get that pattern I would need to have that "Chrome" installed in my computer. For some reason I can not download that  "Chrome" to my computer, my computer will not let me.

Here is that link if anyone can get to that pattern PLEASE LET ME KNOW. http://knittingday.com/5041/summer-dwarf-crochet

I did got that picture from Pinterest.  I guess for some crocheters could be helpful how to make that just by looking at that.

Krys, I do have Chrome and the comment on that page was below--there's no pattern, the poster said the same thing as you did above.

Unfortunately I could not find information about this dwarf.
I found on the internet.
you can do it by looking at the pictures.

Strange you can't load Chrome.  I used to use Windows browsers at home and work (pre Win 10 and Edge, so Windows Explorer), but at work they required the use Chrome at work (I was told it was more secure), so I switched at home as well.

Me again.  As I was typing the last paragraph above I was being polite as to why our company forbade windows browsers -- what the IT techs actually said about Microsoft's browser would turn the air blue and curl your hair.

I was wondering if Microsoft Edge or Explorer was programmed to thwart people from uploading Chrome, and after 'goodgling it' (ha!) on Google Chrome it seems that Edge's topmost search results were to  bogus sites that would not load Chrome.

Bottom line - go directly to chrome.com, do not search for a link to upload Chrome on a Microsoft browser.

The link - this is from Forbes.com, so I would give it credence https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2018/10/27/stop-using-microsoft-edge-to-download-chrome-unless-you-want-malware/#448d07dd13ea

I seen a picture of that Gnome few years ago and I liked him. I just thought that is way too much work  to make him. That is why at that time I wasn't interested to get that pattern. I did not knew that pattern dos not exist.

I could make that Gnome with no pattern. BUT, that would take a lot of extra time to do that (time to rip,rip...LOL). I do not think that Gnome is worth that much time. Who knows I might change my mind after Holidays :).

About installing Chrome in my computer. I tried to do that more than once, it never let me get to the end of that instal. I even called AOL- technical support for help with that. They tried and it did not worked. And they do not know WHY??.

Happy crocheting!

Holey moley, I haven't used AOL in decades.  Are you using a really old computer and operating system, that may be the problem.  Minimum computer requirements for Chrome is given here https://smallbusiness.chron.com/google-chrome-software-requirements-48820.html

This is the link for installing Chrome, which I accessed thru AOL.com https://www.google.com/chrome/

AOL has changed since the "old times". I remember they use to have "dial-up" system, not any more. I do have a cable connection:).

But you could be right maybe that problem with that Chrome is because of AOL?. AOL dos not think that LOL

I did manage to find this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/640344073/garden-gnomes-crochet-pattern?ref=shop_home_active_15&crt=1  .  It’s not free, but it’s the only thing I could find in English, and it’s  TWO of the gnomes! Maybe it will help you guys also!

Thank you Kayla:)

I do think that is the same designer, those Gnomes looks almost the same.

I did bought that pattern, I will need to wait until after Holidays to find out IF I want to crochet all of that...? LOL.. That is a LOT of work to make that looking "perfect" (I am talking about one Gnome).

I am not sure what I should be thinking about that designer. Because after I got that pattern, I read that she dos NOT want anyone to crochet that for sale!. I am not thinking about my self because I never sell my work. BUT, to try to prevent someone who bought that pattern (which is not cheap by any means) to prevent them from selling their hard work??. That person would not make much money on that anyway, maybe 50 or 75cents per hour the most, if her crochet work  would be good and look nice.  There is a LOT of work going in to that Gnome. What she would want? a cut of that small profit??. I sure as heck do not like that part in that pattern.

Happy crocheting,

Krys

Oh, and I was able to open that gnome link on my iPad in Safari... so I don’t think it’s a no Chrome problem.

No there is not a Chrome problem. I got a Chrome problem with my computer. I can not have Chrome installed. This days many patterns can not be downloaded without Chrome.

No, not that old.   Win 10 came out about 4 years ago so you should be up  to date on operating system.  But some PCs don't have a lot of 'oomph' under the hood (processor or memory), even though they might be running Windows 10.

Check "what's under the hood" of your computer to see if it has what it takes to run Chrome, based on the link I gave you.

Let's see....go to Control Panel, then System and Security, then System.  It tells you the processor and memory info you need to know  to check against the Chrome requirements--from the link I gave above:

Google Chrome will run on computers equipped with a Pentium 4 processor or higher, which encompasses most machines manufactured since 2001. The computer must have approximately 100MB of free hard drive space and 128MB of RAM. The oldest version of Windows supported by Chrome is Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed. Chrome also runs on computers with Windows Vista or Windows 7 installed.

If your microprocessor is "Pentium Silver" or "Atom", you may be out of luck for having enough processing power for Chrome.  If you have "Pentium Gold" or I3, I5, I7 (Or AMD equivalents, should mention 'core'), you should be good for Chrome.  Apparently the 'Celeron' processor can go either way, again, there are core and non-core versions.

Krys aol and their support have gotten really bad the past few years.  Still on aol dialup at old place which was slow but ok up until the buyout/merger a couple of years ago.  After that it often will not connect to check aol email but does connect to internet. I call and eventually get passed around til someone admits to having problems with their server.  Some days it works others it will not.  Its been so horrible we quit using laptop at home.  Last time I called their service rep tried telling me aol was just a browser and not an internet service provider.  Thru the years we discovered that we could not even connect to some web sites using the aol browser so we used Explorer up until one of those wonderful updates which caused problems.  Then we switched to Chrome. Except for size of screen I love using my smart phone for internet.  It uses Chrome.  I do not have anywhere near the problems with the phone that we have with pc's, laptops, and Microsoft Windows.
