Here's another graphed blanket that I did "on commission."  Our local bike group puts on an event each spring.  So, I was asked to make this (they bought the materials) as my donation -- then, they raffled off the blanket.  Proceeds went to charity.

 

The picture isn't great quality, but you see the gist of it.  I used a heather grey (to represent roads) and the purple because I was trying to pick a color that men, women, kids, teens, etc. would all find attractive.  Some strange "almost newly wed" dude in the store assured me that he liked the combination and would use a blanket of those colors, so I figured it was a good choice.

 

I used HDC as the stitch, carried the purple along the grey, and "signed" my name in morse code (on the right side, under the "e').

Whoa! Love it.  Wish I had the patience to crochet graph work.

This went pretty fast because it was only two color and the carry method is quicker than removing and attaching bobbins of yarn.
