Coastal Shrug - Herrschners

Recommended Posts

A member of the CURVES that I work part-time at, got this kit.

While she does crochet, asked me if I would make it for her and would pay me.

The yarn used is 5th Avenue Coastal Cotton with a suggested gauge of 15sc and 16 = 4" using an H hook on the lable.   While the directions called for 21 rows of DC and 15 DC = 4".    I called Herrschners as I had a question about the pattern itself.   And I mentioned the pattern gauge.  I said it was impossible for that hook size and DC = 21 rows and she agreed and that it is more than likely a missprint.  She suggested that I use the hook needed to get the 15 dc = 4" and  35" going by the schematics   It was quite easy to make - though I didn't quite like the results on the back as it does 'sag' a bit.   But the woman got it yesterday and loves it.   Long as she's happy with it, but it's not up my ally.
