How is This Worn?

Many years ago, I received this knitted scarflet from my then-boyfriend's sister in Mexico. If I had ever met her, I would have asked her how to wear it, but that wasn't meant to be. I don't give away or throw away gifts, much less handmade gifts. So I have kept it all these years. I keep it visible in a drawer, readily available, and I try to play with ways of wearing it, but I just can't figure it out. A keyhole scarf usually has one keyhole. What's the reason for two? I'm missing something. I know it. Please, please enlighten me, o wisest ones.

Maybe you're supposed to put each point in the opposite hole? I really don't know.

I've never seen a key-hole scarf with a hole at both ends. But I agree with RoseRed.... try putting each end through each hole. It will require folding the second one back on itself. I wonder if she misunderstood the pattern?

There is a method of tying fleece blankets that involves 2 holes..wonder if it is the same method?

I'll try having both ends go through both openings. I think maybe she misunderstood the pattern. It's a puzzle. lol. Thanks, everyone!

I've tried it, but it doesn't look right. The other end looks like I just forgot to do something with it.

Was it perhaps meant to be tied? That would explain the narrow parts on both ends (not the holes though)- when tied it wouldn't be to bulky at the knot

Maybe it's decoration.
