I'd really forgotten how quickly hats can work up, got this one done just in time for the kiddo to wear out to spend the evening with grandma and grandpa, he put it on and started cawing lol

thanks everyone, I've gotten requests from friends and family for 6 more in various colors, once I get them done I'll take a pic of the whole flock and post it
