Caron One Pound Question

Hi everyone,

I have been making tons of hats recently with Caron One Pound, and unfortunately due to that I have figured out what size hat I can make from this yarn. Unfortunately the color I need to make my next hat is not made in Caron One Pound. Does anyone have a yarn that they recommend that is the same thickness? I tried I love this yarn from Hobby Lobby and that made the hat way smaller. Luckily it is stretchy soft yarn. Also I can not use Red Heart, so that is not an option. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Have you tried Bernat Super Saver? It is worsted weight so there has to be a brand that is close.

I can't say I've come across another heavier worsted weight like One Pound - maybe a light bulky weight would work - seems like Bernat Softee Chunky was somewhat similar but I think it is a little heavier than One Pound. Don't have any on hand for comparison purposes at the moment.

 

Maybe you could try two strands of Simply Soft and a larger hook and maybe that would give you the size you need - also would open up all sorts of color combinations:)

Go on Yarndex on-line and see if you can find a yarn similar in thickness...

Is there a reason why you can't use red heart? Maybe try Vanna's Choice

I've found the Bernat Berella "4" has the same weight/thickness feel to it as the Caron One Pound.
