Need yarn suggestions please!

I am wanting to make the Ayla by Kristin Omdahl. Its a circle coat, and gorgeous. I don't want to use wool. I need something cheap, dk weight and fall colors.

I was looking at some Vanna's Choice yarn online the other day (local stores don't have a big variety), and there are some beautiful, rich fall colors. It's an acrylic, but it feels softer than some. I was debating between using a cotton blend or an acrylic for this particular project. I tend to like natural yarns better, but this acrylic is nice! I like Berroco's Comfort DK - I've used some to make bows for hair clips and I think its very soft. I just bought it so long ago, I don't know the price

If you look at this page: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ayla-2/people it shows several completed Ayla jackets and lists the yarns each person used to complete it. One used Caron Simply Soft (acrylic), Elle Escapade (acrylic), Moda Dea (wool/acrylic blend), Berroco Ultra Alpaca (Wool/Alpaca blend), etc.....

 

I just bought some Bernat Mosaic -- it might look very nice with this pattern too. It is fairly inexpensive.

Thanks everyone, Debra I will go check that out. Would be nice to see how the yarns look in this pattern. Then I get to go yarn shopping! yeah!
