how do you prepare for swaps??

After reading the list of the new swaps coming up, there's a few I'd like to do. I'd like to make some things to have on hand to be "semi" prepared.

 

I was wondering what others do--do you make everything after you sign up or do you have boxes full of crocheted items ready to go or do you do both?

I like to pick up little things as I go, notepads, calendars, etc to be prepared for swaps (or little gifties for friends; but as for the crocheting part of it, I usually wait because I want to know my partners likes and dislikes and allergies.

I pick up bits and pieces as I go for my stash bag that way I always have trinkets etc on hand...as for the crochet I wait until I know more about my partner

I usually wait until I have my partner's info....that way I can personalize everything I put in the package.....

Like Smokey, I wait until I get my partner's information. Then I check out their blogs and their recent posts, in addition to their survey, of course, to try to learn more about them, their interests, and likes and dislikes. I try to make it as personal in all respects, too.

If I see something during the year, that I think someone would like, and it is on sale, I buy it. Otherwise, I wait and try to see what my partner likes.
