Shawl for a Friend

Hello, it's been awhile with all our reno work on our house (to sell it) and trying to keep it "pristine" (how I hate that word!). Recently I dug out an old project that I don't even know what it started out to be. I decided it would be a good shawl and finished it up and designed the ruffle myself. I don't know what the pattern is or where it came from for the shawl itself, but it's a simple "back and forth" pattern. I am now working on the dark blue lap robe I started when I was last on here.

 

I sent the shawl to an internet friend who knits but doesn't crochet. Her husband has just been diagnosed with bladder cancer just months after retiring. I know they would appreciate your prayers for his recovery. He is now undergoing chemo. I think I will send the lap robe to him when I'm done.
