WAFFLE WEAVE ANYONE???

Lollie2639

Question

Hi ya'll

I ordered the book 'Learn To Do Waffle Weave' from Annie's Attic. I just got it and I am already stuck on the first page. It looks easy, but I just cant get going. I really need to see it. I could not find it on stitchguide.com. Has anyone used this....have the book...a resource....website....or can get me going?

THanks so much

I'm fairly sure that what they call "waffle weave" is simply reversable aka double-thick single crochet. I've been doing potholders from that stitch for years, and learned it from someone who did an afghan using the stitch. (She learned it from someone else, etc.)

I have a tutorial here: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8mnnp/doublethickpotholder.html

You can also do a 'less thick' version of it: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8mnnp/kitchenset.html

I haven't seen Annie's Attic version's yet, I'm just going from their description of the book.

Are you talking about when you make a filet pattern of double crochets and chain 2's......then go back with other colors and do double crochet stitches around the double crochets posts and chain 2 stitches?

Linda :think

Pretty sure she means "Learn to Do Waffle Weave" by Annie's Attic. :devil I haven't seen the book in person, but they seem to say it's "single crochet". I think the one you're talking about might be "waffle stitch"? It's hard to tell from the cover, though. It does look like what you're describing.

There was a discussion about this before and somebody explained how to do it. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It's a variation of the stitch used in mrs_who's tutorials.
