Mom has fallen in love w/ a bag I've made for my DD for Christmas; but didn't like not having any compartments.

We went to the Southern Christmas Show on Monday. We found this gadget that will work great w/ anyone's hand made purses... I hope it is alright to post this link: http://www.pursepleaser.com/Home.html

It was 19.95 @ the Show, so I wish I could of bought 1 for each purse I'm giving for Christmas.

There is a free pattern that was similar to that and crocheted,http://littleprojectscrafts.com/freepatterns.htm

It might work if you wanted to include it in your other purses. If you didn`t want to felt it you could go by your purse measurements and use plastic canvas for some extra sturdiness

this is a pretty kewl thing! No offense to you felters out there! I have no desire to ever do anything felted. I guess I'd just make 1 strip 27x9, fold it, divide into pockets, then put a piece of plastic canvas in each pocket for stiffness?

I was going to mention the free pattern too. I love the idea, but have yet to make it. It's on my long wish list of items to make.

I also don't felt, but I figured with the items in there, it would stay up and in place. I probably would only remove one item at a time as I needed them. Of course plastic canvas would work too.

Hm... I wonder if I could tack it to the sides of the lining to keep it upright... :think... I can't sew and that's why my purses have no pockets (I made a cell phone cozy and a key fob to hook my keys to).

This is wonderful. IMHO felting is best because without it crochet has a tendency to stretch out with the additional weight of objects. The felting would keep it together better. Felting is easy enough to do. Kim Guzman taught the stovetop method here in a class on Crochetville.

I personally love both ideas. My purse is always so cluttered. These would be great to organize what I put in my purse. Thanks for all the ideas I learn here.

I picked up some nice wool and will be starting on this project soon. I think it will be a real help in my cluttered purse.
