My Thrift Shop Find: a small Hairpin Lace Fork

I found this in a Thrift Shop and got it for 75¢.

I can see why they named this hairpin lace. This hook is almost as small as a hairpin.

 

I haven't used it yet because I think even a size 20 thread would be too big for it.

Neat find! Can you imagine doing hairpin lace on an actual hairpin?! That is how it got it's name! I have only made a couple HPL items (scarves, baby blankets) but it is fun to do!

MaryPat, I'm guessing what you've got is stiffer than the hairpins I have and have seen.

 

The slide was a very nifty idea.

I enjoy the creativity of using what one has to make beautiful things. That was quite an inventive notion to make lace on a hairpin.
