How do I store

Recommended Posts

I recently moved to a new place. Unfortunately it is in the cellar of a friends house. I need to know how to store all the crocheted items I made for Christmas, so they don't smell musty.

Thanks Ellen

If you have damp in the basement, investing in either a small electric dehumidifier or the little buckets of drying chemical called Damp Rid may be a solution. I used it both in the laundry room and my closet and it really makes a difference.

I was going to suggest the dryersheet thing too! another trick is to use a bit of baking soda (the box that you put in the fridge :wink) or baby powder...those will absorb moisture, don't have offensive odor, safe for sensitive skins. And I can't say I've had a problem getting them to "shake out" of anything. HTH...oh, and of course, this is all still in storage bags :)
