storing afghans

i have a few afghans i have been making for christmas.not real sure how to store them.any tips.thanks

Why not get ahead of the mad rush and go ahead and box them as presents? I've done that before as I finished one and it seemed to work very well. Took a lot of the last minute stress off me.

I guess a lot would depend on where you live and how much storage space you have.

I too use the space bags for yarn, afghans and clothes for my children. They are GREAT. I even have my Holly Hobbie rag dolls in one.

 

I can put them in our basement without having to worry:D

Not to sound stupid, but what is a "space bag"? Do you mean garment bags? I use the plastic garment bags, or the bags that quilts and bedding comes in.

Space bags are plastic bags that are made to suck the air out with your vacuum and compress. They take up less space and are supposed to be air tight and bug proof.

The one I tried was crappy. Not sure if it was the real brand or not.

I agree....I had my afghans stored in boxes with a Downy Fabric Softner sheet layered in between the 'ghans and instead of smelling musty and card-board like, they smelled april fresh:c9 And the space bags are your best bet!
