Do you mean something specific, or something in general? I don't have a particular pattern in mind, but I would suggest you start with a simple skirt, or basic, loose fitting top. Don't try doing something that is fitted or has a complex design. A poncho, or shrug are good, too. Have you tried the basic shrug schematics they have posted here? They have the spider skirt that is posted in the CAL section that I think is beautiful.

The first clothing item I did was a raglan baby sweater. It was so easy and no stinky sewing seams. Once you get the raglan concept you'll never need a pattern again!

Also, if you like to crochet in the round, this kid size crochet sweater jacket pattern is awesome and easy. Also, no sewing seams!

This pattern is 6 dollars I think, but well worth it because it is so easy and turns out so well.

Good luck!

I have some old patterns for wee tank tops from the 70s. They are done with a square which has shoulder straps and side bits added.

A great way to make something wearable without too much shaping.

E-mail me if you would like the patterns.

Have fun.

my first garment was a sleeveless top in yarn and it came out great. was worked in 2 parts and easy without having to worry about arm holes and sleeves. i then made a poncho. have also now made a wrap around shawl. that was easy to make and grew quick :hooked
