Ok I want to make my dad a tie out of thread the pattern the thread calls for is this 4 balls (or 350 yds) of DMC Senso Crochet Wool Cotton, Dark Olive Green #1304 now my question is if I can't find this kind of thread what brand of thread do you recommended to use that is relatively inexpensive thanks for the help

Hobby Lobby carries it, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

The Senso thread is a size 3 thread so if you can't find it you can use any szie 3 thread as a substitute. The cotton threads may not drape quite as well as the Senso but it will work.

If I were you I would really try to scout out the Senso, even ordering it online if you can. Like Kathy said it will have a drape to it that regular #3 cotton just won't have and will probably actually tie better than cotton. And I see it regularly at Hobby Lobby like the other Kathy does.
