Characters that crochet

Hello, everyone.

This is probably the wrong place to ask but I have Googled and Yahooed and have come up with either nothing or knitting. Then I thought maybe someone here would know.

Does anyone know of any characters in fiction who crocheted? I need a new username for my email.

I'm not 100%, but I think I remember some reference to crocheting in the "Little House on the Praire" series of books. I seem to remember a small reference to "crocheted lace" that they had saved for when they got married. Also, I think there was a reference to the blind daughter, Mary, crocheting in one of the books. I know they're characters are based on real people, but it was the first thing that popped into my head.

The Blossom Street books by Debbie Macomber has mostly knitting but the sister crochets.

Like Water for Chocolate has crocheting in it.

Hooked on Murder also has crochet.
