Purple Flower Hanging Doily (Now with pattern, post #5)

This is a Christmas present for my mom. Her favorite color is purple so I made this for her. It's my first decor-type thing. I hope you like it (sorry the colors are a little dull in the picture).

Looks like it would be a good potholder pattern too! How big is it? What yarn did you use?

Thanks! I wrapped it so I can't measure exactly but I'm guessing that it was 6 or 7 inches across. The yarn is worsted weight but I don't know what kind since I got it from a flea market. The dark purple stuff is really coarse and the light purple stuff is really soft if that helps I believe I used an H hook for this one.

 

Anyway, the pattern is (and apologies for the badly written nature of it)......

 

C1 = color 1 (light purple) C2 = color 2 (dark purple)

Rnd 2: C1 2 sc in every sc around (12)

Rnd 3: C1 2 sc in every other sc (18)

Rnd 4: C1 2 sc in every third sc (24)

Rnd 5: C1 2 sc in every fourth sc (30)

Rnd 6: C2 2 sc in every fifth sc (36)

Rnd 7: C2 2 sc in every sixth sc (42)

Rnd 8: C2 2 sc in every seventh sc (48)

Rnd 9: C1 2 sc in every eighth sc (54)
