Making pattern help.

i am in the process of writting down a pattern I made the only problem is this is the first time and I'm not sure how to go up or down on sizes. Somebody, anybody HELP!

I have never designed my own pattern, but I'm mathematical and I would use the gauge and measurements I wanted to work out a formula to increase the stitches.

What about just writing out the instructions for one size and say that the person making the item can make it bigger or smaller by changing yarn and hook size. :think

Most people have at least one pattern which fits them so they can compare with that before they start. :think
