Felted purse in Autumn colors

What an abundance of lovely purses and bags this morning. Makes me want to sit down and make some right away. Patty

Wow, that is really pretty. No you cannot tell there was much purple. The straps are exceptionaly fabulous looking. Can I ask did you felt them and the purse all as one?

No, they were not felted together. There are loops on the side of the purse. For the handle, I crocheted a loooooong "i-cord," which I felted. After purse and handle were felted, I cut the cord the length I wanted, threaded it through both loops, and very tightly stitched the blunt ends together (the join is hidden in one of the loops). Then, I draw the two halves of the now-circular handle together, and invisibly stiched them together to make a wider, single strap, leaving a gap on each side near the loops. Hope that makes sense!

 

Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone! This purse is for me, and sometime in the next week or so, I'm going to put my thread purse away and start carrying this one.

That is a really nice bag!! I, too, would be interested in the pattern... if you need a tester, I'd gladly volunteer!
