Yin Yang Diamond Bookmark

Materials:

Size 10 thread in White and Black
1 white and 1 black pony beads
Needle (to weave in ends)
Size 7 steel hook

Note:

I crochet left handed:hook, so some of the diagrams might look opposite to those who crochet right handed.

Directions:

Row 1: With white thread Ch13, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the remaining 11 chains, ch1 and turn. (12sc)
Row 2: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (12sc)
Row 3: Sc decrease first 2 sts together, 1 sc in each of the next 8 sts, sc decrease last 2 sts together, ch1 and turn. (10sts total) (2sc decreases and 8 sc)
Row 4: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (10sc)
Row 5: Sc decrease first 2 sts together, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, sc decrease last 2 sts together, ch1 and turn. (8sts total) (2sc decreases, 6 sc)
Row 6: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (8sc)
Row 7: Sc decrease first 2 sts together, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, sc decrease last 2 sts together, ch1 and turn. (6sts total) (2sc decreases, 4sc)
Row 8: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (6sc)
Row 9: Sc decrease first 2 sts together, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc decrease last 2 sts together, ch1 and turn. (4sts total) (2sc decreases, 2sc)
Row 10: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (4sc)
Row 11: Sc decrease first 2 sts together and sc decrease last 2 sts together, ch1 and turn. (2sc decreases)
Row 12: 1 sc in each st across, ch1 and turn. (2sc)
Row 13: Sc decrease first 2 sts together, turn. (1sc decrease)
Row 14: Ch51, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the remaining 49 chains, sl st in sc decrease of Row 13. (50sc + 1 sl st)
Finish off and weave in ends.
Row 15: Join Black thread with a sc to an end free loop from beginning starting chain. 1 sc in each of the next 11 free loops, ch1 and turn. (12sc)
Row 16-28: Repeat Rows 2-14 for Rows 16 thru 28.
Finish off like you did before and weave in ends.

White side:

Slide a black bead onto the white side of book mark onto the 50 sc.

Tassel: Cut 8 black 7”inch pieces of thread. Stick hook in White Row end (of Row 14 the end of the 50sc). Fold strand in half onto the hook. Pull a loop with the strands (through the row end. Pull loose strands through loop and pull taut.

Make a knot just above tassel to keep bead from falling off. Make another knot above bead to keep bead in place.

Black side:

Slide white bead onto the black side of book mark onto the 50 sc.

Tassel: Repeat instructions for tassel only this time use white thread.

Make a knot just above tassel to keep bead from falling off. Make another knot above bead to keep bead in place.
