If you've ever been interested in trying filet crochet, there's a lovely and simple rose filet doily as the free pattern for today. Perfect for this summer's filet swap (blatant hint, hint ). Patty

It would make a very lacy afghan. Find an afghan where you chain 189 and see how wide or long it would be.

Aron Afghan this one you chain 181 with a J hook and it's 43x63, but that's after 110 rows or so.

 

I think the center part would be very open. Those double mesh are (dc, ch 5, dc). But maybe it wouldn't be very open... After doing row 21, if that row seemed too open you could go back to mesh or even alternate.

 

What were you thinking about using it for with yarn? I would like to know.

A baby blanket or a lapghan. I can't do thread very well, it hurts my eyes.

I love this pattern. As for the Filet swap...well I design my own filet patterns so when I join the swap this summer my partner is getting a custom design:yes. Since I am out of work my swap participation is limited and the filet swap is one of the very few i am joining.

Oooh, Chrissy, I can't wait to see what you come up with. But I promise not to make sure I pull my name out of the hat when assigning your partner. I'm already thinking about the filet swap and searching for patterns. I had no idea how many different items could be made using this technique. Patty
