crocheted armidillo

I just have to share this. When my oldest son was turning 1, I crocheted him a huge armidillo (pattern is from an old McCalls magazine). However, I never put feet on it. It's rug yarn, and striped. He loved that thing--it went to preschool and rode the bus to kindergarten class. He could sit on it and drag it around. It's been thru the washer too.

Well, he's almost 26 and guess who's still sharing the room with my son?! That great armidillo!

It just goes to show, some crocheted items are loved forever:) That is one toy I never regretted crocheting:)

This *grrr Giant Panda I'm working on had a tag line that this "this one is sure to head off to college" which made me want to try it for the same reason you mentioned with your sons armadillo!

We recently cleaned out the closet in one bedroom, and found the stuffed animals my boys used to drag around. "Arf Arf" and "Lambly" are now back in the boys' possession!!

There's a really cute armadillo pattern on etsy.com. Your son would probably get a kick out of getting a small guy as a gift.

Ya, I've seen that armadillo, and it's holding up pretty well, despite what it's been through, lol. (Funnymom8 is my mom, by the way. )
