mitten "ribbed" cuffs

NanaM3

Question

:c9I want to be successful crocheting mittens for my new grandone. But the "ribbing" in any pattern just doesn't have that rebound (elasticity) that knit ribbing has. Any of you have a can't-miss method? Since I want at first to do the thumbless kind I really don't need anything but the cuff/wrist. Many thanks! Nana in Vermont

Hi Nana, I have done several pairs of mittens with thumbs and without using a pattern from Bev's Country Cottage...one piece mittens. The ribbing is great, sc in back loop really holds the ribbing. Try the cottage for the pattern and good luck.

I agree that the sc TBL ribbing is great! I like it so much that I made very nice legwarmers out of it......they fit snugly- conforming to the leg shape.......certainly they would do the same on a wrist!:yes
